About Me
Biography
Zosia Nicholson is a sophomore from Hyattsville, MD studying mechanical engineering at the University of Maryland. She is interested in architecture, drawing, and music, more specifically playing guitar and singing. Her love of pen and ink drawing was birthed from her interest in architectural drawings in middle school. As a mechanical engineer, she hopes to combine her love of arts and sciences and work with architects to innovate building design and disability access in buildings. Â
As a College Park Arts Scholar, Zosia is interested in expanding upon her current artistic interests and perhaps adding to them as well. Through her engagement with the program and her Capstone project, she intends to explore the crossroads of her interest in art and science. She also intends to use the trips into her community facilitated by the Scholars Program to identify issues in her community and hopefully help to remedy them whether that be on her own or with other scholars. She hopes to find an active community within Art Scholars that shares her interest in community service and allows her more opportunities to apply it. Her academic goals involve graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering and going to graduate school.
